I am a Brazilian painter born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. I have lived and worked in Washington D.C. and in Brussels. I currently divide my time between Paris and Estoril, Portugal. I have exhibited in Rio, New York, Paris, Washington DC, Buenos Aires, Brussels and Madrid. On my father's side I have deeply embedded Anatolian roots from Sephardic, Byzantine, Ottoman and Armenian traditions. On my mother's side: the unique Afro-Portuguese experience with its lush, tropical colors, unbridled sensuality and frenetic rhythms.

“Claudio’s images are almost always hit by light in the way that only the Mediterranean and places close to the equator are known to be. Besides his rich variety of whites, the blue of the ocean or sea, echoed sometimes in the windows, is another focal point of brightness that adds to the ambiguity of peacefulness and tension that coexist in Claudio’s world.”
